The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is a role-playing game that has been around for over 20 years, and it continues to grow in popularity. This guide will teach you how to complete the Stay of Execution feat from the rulebook.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a tabletop role-playing game that takes place in Golarion. A Stay of Execution is an option for players to use when they want their character to stay dead, but not permanently.
During your playthrough of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, you’ll be preparing the tavern for another demon assault when you get to the Defender’s Heart after completing the subterranean section in Kenabres. You’ll have to defend this position against Irabeth and her crew at some point. You’ll want to make sure you’re prepared, but you only have a short amount of time to prepare and gather allies. This tutorial will show you how to finish the quest A Stay of Execution.
This mission will appear at a random time when you’re roaming about the city or resting at the Defender’s Heart. In essence, a messenger will come at your position to tell you that the demon assault is approaching and that you must return to the Defender’s Heart and report to Irabeth. As a result, if you’re out exploring the city, it’s strongly suggested that you stop what you’re doing, return to the bar, and go directly for Irabeth. Failure to do so may result in the failure of this quest, and people within the bar may face dire repercussions as a result.
Speak with Irabeth at the table in the Defender’s Tavern. She’ll inform you that you have a few minutes before the fight begins, allowing you a chance to check your gear, buy potions, or take a quick rest. However, you won’t be able to have a lengthy one. Speak with her when you’re ready and tell her you’re ready to fight. To begin, select who you want to battle with you from your friends.
When you’re ready, return to the front of the bar, where a short cutscene depicting Cultists assaulting the pub with fire will play. A gate will eventually collapse, and you’ll have to protect it. While this is a significant site, Cultists will be using a ladder to get onto the ramparts, so put a few friends there to protect it, preferably ranged warriors who can stay close to your group.
Keeping the Tavern Safe
Cultists from both sides will continue to come in. You don’t want to hurl your whole party at one side or the other, so draw the Cultists to the center of the encampment and use the NPCs to assist cut them down, ensuring your party members aren’t the main focus.

When a huge Minotaur tears down another gate behind the tavern, you’ll be approaching the conclusion of the engagement. Unfortunately, you’re still dealing with a large number of Cultists who have been flooding into the area. Given the Minotaur’s level, your best option is to concentrate on the area’s lesser opponents first, then attack the Minotaur after the final monster is standing. You should also examine this monster before confronting it, since it is resistant to Fire and Ice-based assaults and a highly skilled melee fighter.
While the Minotaur will attack the allies guarding the tavern’s front, this is an excellent place to gather your group to guarantee they have assistance throughout the assault. Other NPCs will be able to assault the monster if Seelah, your Paladin, attracts its hostility.
The ranged Cultists, who are hurling fire into the bar, will be your main worry. While the front-line defenders are the most important worry, if you don’t deal with the ranged Cultists fast enough, they’ll be able to set the whole area on fire, and they’re very successful at reducing your tavern’s defenses to zero. The number at the top of your screen decides whether you complete the mission successfully or not. You’d want to prevent it from going to zero.
Irabeth will invite you back to the bar for a party after you’ve completed the task. Surviving the encounter will reward you with experience points and the weapon Heavy Flail of Weakness.
