NVIDIA DLSS SDK Now Available to All Developers

NVIDIA has announced the release of its DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) SDK to all developers, which allows them to use deep learning to enhance their games with a super sampling technique that can provide up to 2x better image quality for gamers.

The NVIDIA DLSS SDK Now Available to All Developers is a new tool that NVIDIA has released for developers who want to implement the company’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology into their games.

With the introduction of its Turing-based GeForce RTX graphics cards in 2018, NVIDIA introduced DLSS. Since then, super-sampling technology has been used to improve performance in over 60 games. The SDK is now available for developers to download and test for free. The marketplace is where you can get the Unreal Engine 5 and 4.26 plugins. It’s also in Unity 2023.2 beta, or you may get the whole 2.2.1 SDK. During GDC, which runs through July 23, NVIDIA is also holding a virtual DLSS session.

System Prerequisites DLSS SDK
Various Operating Systems End-User Runtimes for DirectX in Windows 10 64-bit (June 2010) Ubuntu 18.04 or Ubuntu 20.04
Dependencies NVIDIA DLSS SDK needs an R470 or newer NVIDIA RTX GPU driver.
Environment for Development Visual Studio 2017 (v15.6 or later) is required. Visual Studio Code, GCC, and g++ 8.4.0 or later are required on Linux.
Engine Specifications Based on DirectX11, DirectX 12, or Vulkan Vulkan should be aware of the following: The DLSS Vulkan route requires that the application run on Vulkan version 1.1 or later. Provide the raw color buffer for the frame (in HDR or LDR/SDR space) on each evaluation call (i.e. per frame). Motion vectors in screen space that are precise, computed at 16 or 32 bits per pixel, and updated every frame. This is the frame’s depth buffer. The value of exposure (if processing in HDR space).

Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) is now simpler and more versatile than ever for developers to access and incorporate in their games, thanks to NVIDIA. The most recent DLSS SDK update (version 2.2.1) adds additional user-customizable features, Linux compatibility, and simplified access.
